First chirp: around 5:15am ish or so. Started recording around 5:30 and kept in going for about 25 minutes.
Merlin picked up:
- Red Winged Blackbird: who started the show- at least, the first one I noticed.
- Northern Cardinal: by far the star of the chorus.
- Carolina Wren: was trying really hard to outsing the Cardinal.
- Gray Catbird: I'm always intrigued by their more awkward but musical song and then later by their "mew"- for which they get their name.
- Mourning Dove: I used to confuse these with owls when I was younger.
Late to the party:
- House Sparrow
- American Robin
- Red-eyed Vireo: Merin caught this but I didn't. I did have some red-eyes last Spring (and finally saw one!) so this is probably legit!
Merlin picked up but I didn't- sounds maybe just confused the app:
- American Goldfinch: I am still not familiar with their song yet.
- Canada Goose: Feasible but I thought I would have noticed unless distracted.
- Brown Thrasher- This one came up as rare in the area and I wonder if other sounds confused the app.
